A MESSAGE FROM BEN BROWN,
Property Valuation Administrator
I have had the pleasure to serve the people of Logan County as Property Valuation Administrator since 1994.
Since becoming PVA, I have attended and completed educational classes set
forth by the Revenue Cabinet in order to receive the designation of Senior
Kentucky Assessor. I became a member of the International Association of
Assessing Offices (IAAO) in 1994. In 1996 I was a founding member and served
on the board of directors for the Kentucky Chapter of IAAO. We have now been
presented the Outstanding Chapter Award for a small jurisdiction three times
in the last five years. I have served as vice-president for the Kentucky
Chapter as well as president for the chapter and currently I serve as
Executive Director for the chapter. I am very proud of our chapter of IAAO
and the educational opportunities that we provide our members.
Our staff continues to make concentrated efforts to improve every aspect of
the PVA office. Recently, our office undertook the task of installing a new
GIS System that will further enhance the way information concerning property
will be linked to digitized mapping throughout the entire county. This
project will provide the public another means to seek information regarding
property within Logan County. Lately, we have focused our attention on the
need for a website so that visitors may learn more about our office, its
functions, requirements from the state and the general information regarding
property taxation. We have also added a second public access terminal in the
office for the convenience of our customers.
Our main objective is to serve the citizens of Logan County. We encourage
you to browse through the website and to stop by and visit our office.
